Amaryllis House

Amaryllis House, the first residential service specifically for people with Huntington's in New Zealand, was opened in Lower Hutt in September 2004. It supports the principle of "normal living" and providing all people with opportunities for independence and control over their own life and decision-making.

We work closely with the management and staff of Amaryllis House. Our Wellington Nurse Advisor is a regular visitor to support our clients living at Amaryllis House as well as providing exercise therapy and also being a knowledge resource that they can call on. The Association Chairperson and the Wellington Nurse Advisor are also members of the Amaryllis House Advisory Group.

You can enquire about Amaryllis House by calling them on (04) 569 7290 or speaking to your local Nurse Advisor.

Amaryllis Flower

The Amaryllis flower is the symbol of the Huntington’s Disease Association around the world. It is a sign of hope and recognises the growth of achievements in research advancing but still searching for prevention or a cure.
